MK Moskowitz (they/them/theirs) is a social worker who earned their degree from BU School of Social Work. Their previous work experience is in outpatient therapy in a primary care setting with a diverse presentation of clients. They also have experience working with folks with histories of incarceration and legal involvement, as well as LGBTQ+ youth.
MK believes that therapy is an opportunity to more deeply connect with your feelings, develop understanding of your experiences, and create a path towards growth and healing. Their clinical interests include trauma, LGBTQ+ identity, perinatal concerns, chronic illness and disability, anxiety, grief, and more. They practice from the belief that healing occurs within relationships and work with clients to build on their existing strengths and resources from an anti-oppressive and non-pathologizing lens.
MK has a passion for working with LGBTQ+ clients, specifically transgender and gender-diverse folks, across the lifespan. They are particularly interested in supporting queer people engaged in family planning and in the perinatal period. They also have experience working with trans and non-binary youth in a residential setting. MK is able to provide letters for individuals seeking gender-affirming surgery.
MK’s therapeutic approach is relational, trauma-informed, and centered in deep curiosity about the socio-political context within which we exist. They believe in the importance of humor in the therapy space and work to develop strong relationships with their clients. Some of the modalities that inform their work are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, Liberation Health, somatics, and psychodynamic therapy.
